QAagency is delighted to be working with a specialist technical injection moulding manufacturer based in Hereford. Operating as a high-mix, low-volume manufacturer with over 1,000 SKUs, the company produces precision components using high-grade polymers and tight tolerance processes. As part of their ongoing investment in quality, we are assisting them in recruiting a Senior Quality Engineer to lead day-to-day operations of the quality department, with a clear route to becoming Quality Manager in the coming years.
As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will manage the daily quality function across the site, overseeing a team of four shift Quality Controllers. Reporting to the SHEQ Director, who remains responsible for external audits and accreditation, this role will lead internal audit scheduling, manage customer concerns and NCRs, and ensure quality systems across production, inspection, and documentation are fit for purpose. The business holds accreditations to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, and the role requires a strong understanding of regulated manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
- Own and manage internal audits, NCRs, 8Ds, and customer complaints across multiple product lines.
- Supervise and support the shift Quality Controllers on day-to-day quality matters.
- Lead investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions using Six Sigma or other root cause analysis tools.
- Maintain and improve quality KPIs, QMS procedures, and departmental reporting.
Key Requirements
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with multiple concurrent product lines.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ideally ISO 13485; auditing experience strongly preferred.
- Capable of leading investigations, managing customer relationships, and supervising staff.
- Competent in interpreting engineering drawings and using metrology equipment.
This is a site-based, Monday to Friday role with a flexi-time contract (37.5 hours/week) and core hours of attendance. Salary is offered at £34,000 to £45,000, depending on experience and qualifications, with long-term potential to progress into a Quality Manager role.
