QAagency is delighted to be working with a well-established UK precision manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager for its site in Essex. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based position, reporting directly to the General Manager. The business operates within highly regulated automotive and aerospace supply chains and produces complex, high-precision components where quality, traceability and process control are critical.

As Quality Assurance Manager, you will take full ownership of the site’s quality systems while remaining hands-on with inspection and day-to-day quality activity. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the integrated management system, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100, and relevant automotive and aerospace requirements. You will act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits, supported by an external consultant, and will work closely with both customers and suppliers to ensure expectations are met.

In this role, you will manage customer complaints, non-conformances, concessions, and quality alerts through to closure, using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D and maintaining robust CAPA records. You will monitor internal quality KPIs, champion continuous improvement across the business, and help embed a strong quality culture throughout the organisation. The role also includes hands-on responsibility for inspection, calibration, FAIR, and PPAP activities, as well as oversight of RoHS, REACH, and wider compliance documentation.

To be suitable for this role, you will have proven experience within a manufacturing quality environment, with strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100. Experience working with automotive and aerospace customers is essential, as is the ability to balance quality system management with practical, hands-on inspection work. You will be comfortable interpreting engineering drawings, confident using MS Office, and able to communicate clearly at all levels. Experience with CAD systems such as SolidWorks and CMM inspection would be advantageous but is not essential.
