QAagency is delighted to be working with a long-established UK-based importer of consumer household goods, as they look to appoint an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of all product compliance and quality assurance activity across their operation. With an international supply base and a growing B2B brand portfolio, the company imports over 250 containers a year and works closely with manufacturing partners in the Far East. This is a key role in shaping and maintaining quality systems across multiple product categories.
As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will oversee all internal quality procedures and product compliance processes, supported by two QA staff. The role will cover UK safety legislation, labelling, documentation, and supplier liaison, and will also involve occasional travel to Asia. You’ll report directly to the Managing Directors and act as the technical lead on UKCA marking, Declarations of Conformity, testing protocols, and audit readiness. Experience working with high-SKU product ranges and consumer goods is essential, ideally in areas such as lighting, toys, or decorative items.
- Lead QA operations including internal audits, product testing, and supplier quality controls.
- Manage the QA team and ensure compliance with UKCA, RoHS, EN71 and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain Technical Files, declarations, and all associated compliance documentation.
- Liaise with UK and overseas suppliers to resolve quality issues and support new product development.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a QA or compliance role within the consumer goods sector.
- Strong working knowledge of UK product safety legislation and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with external test houses, risk assessments, and product labelling regulations.
- Confident leading a small QA team and managing multiple product lines simultaneously.
This is a full-time, office-based position located near Newport, South Wales. The role offers a salary of circa £50,000, depending on experience, with some travel to suppliers in Asia required.
