QAagency is delighted to be working with a fast-growing UK designer and manufacturer of high-performance protective clothing, supplying regulated and safety-critical industries. The role is based on-site in Hull, East Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, the business is appointing a Head of Quality to take full ownership of quality, compliance and regulatory activity across the organisation.

This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of Product Development and working closely with product, manufacturing and supply chain teams. You will take responsibility for the company’s Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems and Information Security Management Systems, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and PPE Regulation 425/2016 including Module D. The position combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational control, covering certification, supplier compliance, audit management, product testing and continuous improvement across a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will manage and maintain company-wide QMS, EMS and ISMS frameworks, ensuring documentation, procedures and controls remain robust and audit-ready. You will oversee all ISO and regulatory compliance activity, including external audits, surveillance visits and certification renewals. The role will involve maintaining product certifications, technical files and supplier documentation in line with EU and UKCA requirements. You will investigate non-conformances, lead root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions. Working closely with manufacturing partners, you will uphold product accreditations and ensure consistent quality standards. You will also support R&D sampling, product testing and prototype evaluation, alongside sustainability initiatives including carbon reduction and SMETA compliance.

Key requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and product certification processes including EU and UKCA marking
  • Understanding of PPE Regulation 425/2016 including Module B and Module D requirements
  • Experience managing audits, non-conformances and regulatory inspections within a manufacturing environment
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
