QAagency is delighted to be working with a long-established, family-run distributor supplying ingredients, chemicals and raw materials into regulated markets including food, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. Operating as a distributor rather than a manufacturer, the business works with an extensive international supplier network and supports customers where quality, compliance and service standards are critical to ongoing supply.

This is a full-time, office-based role located in Slough, reporting directly to the CEO.

As Head of Quality Assurance and Customer Services, you will lead the Customer Services function while taking full ownership of Quality Assurance across the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Leadership Team, this role requires a confident and commercially aware leader who can balance service delivery with firm, well-judged quality and compliance decision-making. The role is particularly focused on food and pharmaceutical activities, where regulatory expectations, customer demands and commercial pressures must be managed carefully and consistently.

  • Lead and support the Customer Services team, remaining hands-on where required and acting as the escalation point for complex customer issues.
  • Take ownership of Quality Assurance, acting as the senior quality authority across the business.
  • Manage technical documentation, customer queries, deviations and corrective actions across regulated product areas.
  • Prepare for and support ISO and GDP audits, working with suppliers, auditors and internal stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience leading Customer Services and/or Quality Assurance within a regulated environment.
  • Comfortable operating as a senior decision-maker and pushing back where quality or compliance is at risk.
  • Confident interpreting technical, regulatory and compliance documentation.
  • Commercially aware, organised and resilient, with the ability to balance leadership and hands-on delivery.
